What is Literature To Life®?

We know that books have the power to excite the imagination – to encourage free thought, critical thinking, and empathy for others. But more than ever, reading is being left behind. “I can’t relate. It’s boring,” they say.

On hundreds of stages and classrooms each year, lives are made richer by Literature to Life. Together, we can ignite a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.

UNDERSERVED STUDENTS: 

With In-school Residencies

A Literature to Life Residency is an in-school experience created to improve the academic engagement and personal development of under-served students. Led by Master Teaching Artists, a series of sessions use high quality theatre, drama-in-education, and great literature to bring classroom content to life.

STUDENTS & COMMUNITIES: 
With Touring Performances

A Literature to Life Stage Presentation is a verbatim theatrical adaptation of significant American literature brought to life by a professional actor. Presentations take place in partner presenting venues, libraries, auditoriums and classrooms across the country.
