Jo-Ann Brody
Type: Workshop, Residency
Art Form: Visual Arts (sculpting, clay, cement, Paper Mache)
Grade Level: K-12
Jo-Ann Brody is a sculptor who creates figurative works in clay, cement and papier mache. She believes that by breaking down projects into steps, by not focusing on creativity, each child can succeed in creating meaningful art and express themselves. Clay lends itself to a combination of functional objects that are then enhanced by sculptural features such as face mugs, animal pots, etc and to sculptural explorations into form and texture. The tactile feeling of clay is engrossing. Clay connects us with our past!
